BEARDSLEY, AUBREY. BEARDSLEY, AUBREY. [Four illustrations for the Works of Edgar Allan Poe]. Chicago: Stone & Kimball, 1894-1895. 8vo (8 x 5 in.), printed on Japan vellum, loose as issued, laid in publisher's parchment portfolio with gilt-stamped floral design to front and rear covers. One inside flap detached but present, the two others intact, prints toned, covers of portfolio slightly bowed. Beardsley's illustrations, for Poe's The Black Cat, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, The Fall of the House of Usher, and The Masque of the Red Death, were printed in a very small edition of perhaps 10 but apparently never offered for sale.
