DIAMOND AND PEARL RING, LATE 19TH CENTURY AND LATER Rose-cut diamonds Half pearls Closed-back setting Ring size approx. L Weight approx. 5.0g Footnotes: OVERALL CONDITION Light surface wear to unhallmarked yellow metal (testing as 18ct gold). Inner hoop marked 18. Evidence of resize to base of hoop. DIAMOND Principal diamond measuring very approx. 6.5 x 6.8mm (depth not possible due to closed-back setting), lively with some inclusions visible under 10x magnification, estimated as S13 clarity, colour not possible due to setting, assessed in mounts. Remaining diamonds displaying a soft lustre. PEARLS Untested, the half pearls measuring very approx. 5.3 x 4.9 and 5.4 x 5.4mm, displaying a white body colour with rose and green overtones and a medium to high lustre. Some dimples visible under closer inspection, one pearl with some damage to nacre in the form significant peeling.
