ENAMEL AND GEM-SET NOVELTY BROOCH, CIRCA 1968 Depicting a stylised dog with collar and bow Polychrome enamel Circular-cut sapphires Circular-cut rubies 18 carat gold UK import mark Length 5.0cm Weight approx. 19.5g Footnotes: OVERALL CONDITION Light surface wear to 18 carat gold. Reverse of brooch with sponsor's mark RHB within rectangular cartouche, Birmingham import mark (triangle) and date letter 'T' for 1968. Brooch pin secure. GEMSTONES Circular-cut sapphires well matched displaying a medium blue hue with fair transparency, all with typical inclusions, some of which surface reaching. Circular-cut rubies well matched displaying a medium reddish pink hue with fair transparency, all with typical inclusions, some of which surface reaching. ENAMEL Some losses to enamel. Two areas of enamel loss to the upper red sections, visible upon closer inspection. One small area of enamel loss to base of left hind leg.
