THREE ANIMAL BROOCHES 1st: Gem-set cat brooch Rhodonite cabochons Brilliant-cut synthetic rubies Length 3.3cm 2nd: Bird brooch Black and polychrome enamel Partial French workshop mark French assay mark Length 4.5cm 3rd: Tortoise brooch Articulated head Circular-cut rubies Length 3.0cm Total weight approx. 28.0g (3) Footnotes: OVERALL CONDITION 1st: Overall in good condition with minor surface wear and discolouration to the unhallmarked metal, stamped '18k' (testing as 18ct gold). 2nd: Enamel to the wing with two chips (doesn't go through to gold, only visible in strong light). Red enamel of eye with one small chip (doesn't go through to gold, only visible in strong light with magnification). French assay marks to body and pin (testing as 18ct gold). 3rd: Overall in good condition. The unhallmarked metal stamped 750, Italian assay mark (testing as 18ct gold). Two eye visible scratches to underneath of tortoise body, and minor surface wear. GEMSTONES 1st: Rhodonite of deep reddish pink hue with black natural inclusions, some of which surface reaching. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
