TWO PAIRS OF PENDENT EARRINGS 1st: Coral pendent earrings Carved coral corallium rubrum Length approx. 6.0cm 2nd: Diamond-set pendent earrings Single-cut diamonds Length approx. 7.5cm Total weight approx. 15.0g (2) Footnotes: OVERALL CONDITION: 1st: Light surface wear to unhallmarked yellow metal (hoop testing as 9ct gold, setting test as 18ct gold). Very minor split to metal setting of one earring. Glue residue to setting visible under 10x magnification. The coral displaying a medium reddish-orange hue, with some natural pitting visible with close inspection. Some chips/damage to coral carving where they meet fittings. Structure visible under 10x magnification. 2nd: Some surface wear to the unhallmarked yellow metal (plaques testing as 11ct gold, pendent testing as 20ct gold - possibly base metal with high carat gilding) in the form of scuffs, spots of discolouration and very minors piercing to metal (upper pendent and flower-plaques). Signs of possible green enamelling to flower plaques, now with substantial loses. Porosity present to reverse of plaque. Solder visible to hoop where pendent meets plaque, possible composite (drop pendents 19th century). Minor breakages to lower foliate design. Reverse of earwires with indistinct mark, possibly for 15ct. Diamonds with soft lustre. This condition report is provided for your convenience based on the opinion of our gemmologists.
