DIAMOND NECKLACE, CIRCA 1890 AND LATER Frontispiece with foliate, star and acorn motifs Old brilliant, single-cut and old cushion-shaped diamonds, approx. 8.50cts total Later black velvet ribbon Length 39.0cm Weight approx. 45.0g Footnotes: OVERALL CONDITION The frontispiece formed from a late 19th century necklace frontispiece, circa 1890 (back chain deficient). Overall in good condition for age with light wear and tarnish, commensurate with age, unhallmarked (testing as silver and 9ct gold). Sewn into a later/modern black velvet ribbon. Attached to unhallmarked clasp fittings via safety pins, (testing as 15ct gold). DIAMONDS Well matched, bright and lively, estimated as G-J, (mostly H/I) colour, VS-I clarities (mostly SI), a few with small chips visible with magnification and strong light. Principal diamond estimated approx. 0.90ct, estimated as I, VS2, assessed in mount. This condition report is provided for your convenience based on the opinion of our gemmologists.
