RUBY AND DIAMOND BROOCH, MID 20TH CENTURY Cushion-shaped rubies Old brilliant and single-cut diamonds, approx. 6.30cts total Length 6.3cm, width 6.2cm Weight approx. 24.0g Footnotes: OVERALL CONDITION Light surface wear to unhallmarked metal (testing as platinum) with some spots of discolouration visible under closer inspection. Small spots of solder visible to reverse under closer inspection. Composite. Clasp secure. RUBIES Three principal rubies measuring approx. 6.7 x 6.8 x 3.1mm, 5.6 x 5.3 x 4.2mm and 5.3 x 5.2 x 3.2mm, the rubies displaying a pinkish red hue with purple subhues. Inclusions visible under closer inspection, fractures present. Some abrasion and nicks to facet edges. Principal ruby with eye visible fractures and chip.
