PEARL AND EMERALD-SET DRAGON BROOCH, LATE 19TH CENTURY Step-cut emerald 5.8-6.5mm pearl, untested French assay mark Length 4.6m Weight approx. 21.0g Footnotes: OVERALL CONDITION Some surface wear to unhallmarked yellow metal (testing as 19ct gold). Pin stamped with French assay mark (eagle's head) and indistinct rubbed French workshop mark (possibly Ste C), reverse of brooch numbered 2328. Some discolouration eye visible to reverse, with small break visible under closer inspection, some discolouration to drop. PEARL Untested, displaying a white body colour with medium lustre, uneven nacre, blemishes and crazing to nacre. EMERALD Displaying a medium yellowish green hue, typical inclusions, some surface reaching with eye visible chip.
