A JOHN F. KENNEDY SIGNED 1960 DNC TICKET. KENNEDY, JOHN FITZGERALD. 1917-1963. Signature ('John Kennedy') at center left of 1960 Democratic National Convention ticket, Second Session, 1 p, oblong 12mo (70 x 140 mm), Los Angeles, July [12], 1960, seat 8, row K, section A, matted with portrait and framed to 875 x 565 mm. Senator John Kennedy entered the 1960 DNC convention as one of several major candidates vying for the nomination, including Lyndon Johnson, Stuart Symington, Adlai Stephenson and California's own Governor Pat Brown. By the third day of the convention, however, Kennedy emerged with a narrow lead in the balloting over the others to win the nomination. A clever convention attendee must have grabbed the previous day's ticket stub to secure an autograph of the nominee.
