A note to the front pastedowns reads 'Copies of this Work are also published bound in morocco in a style characteristic of the period. The present volume may be bound accordingly if transmitted to the Publishers for that purpose'. The author, eventually identified after many false attributions, turned out to be a Hannah Mary Rathbone and the success was such that Some Further Portions... duly appeared in 1848 in matching bindings' (Robin de Beaumont, 'Nineteenth Century Publisher's Bindings 1820-1900', The Private Library.
