GRUNER (LEWIS) AND OWEN JONES The Good Shunammite, FIRST EDITION, chromolithographed throughout, heightened with gold, publisher's morocco-backed black papier-mâché binding, elaborately blind-tooled, including a title cartouche within vine-leaf border and two portrait medallions, gilt dentelles, g.e., original red card slipcase, light wear, Longman, 1847; idem, another copy, publisher's blind-tooled purple morocco, gilt title to covers, 1847, some spotting, 8vo [cf. Mclean, VBD, p.73], Longman, 31 October 1847 (2) Footnotes: Variantly bound copies of a book 'illuminated 'in the Studio of Lewis Gruner', and probably printed in the establishment of Owen Jones, whose style the illuminations resemble' (McLean).
